Dry shampoo
A very easy, 2 ingredient substitute for dry shampoo spray
- Arrowroot or Corn Starch
- Fairtrade Cocoa (optional depending on your hair colour)
- Cinnamon (optional depending on your hair colour)
Mix together small amounts of the different powders in a glass jar. As a guide: Use about 1 tablespoon each of cocoa and arrowroot for medium dark brown hair - this is what I use. Use just arrowroot for blonde hair, add cinnamon for a more red tone, or closer to a 1:2 arrowroot starch to cocoa for darker hair. If you want you can add a few drops of an essential oil like lavender to the mix - I don't usually bother!
Part your hair and dab in a makeup brush with a small amount of the powder and apply some to the roots of your hair. Tip: tap the brush on the lid of the jar to remove the excess before applying it.
Continue to part your hair in different places to apply dry shampoo to the roots.
Comb through your hair, or use your fingers to distribute the powder.
Add more where it's needed.
Style and you're done!
